Specifications have clear requirements, not allowed to construction, need to add 1.5 times the diameter of the straight pipe section. Due to the different thickness of the flange and the elbow, when the temperature changes, the difference between the inner and outer circles of the elbow is large, and the expansion amount is very different. If the direct welding of the flange, the strength of the flange is much higher than that of the elbow, it is easy to lead to the stress release at the weld of the elbow, which will cause the weld to crack, especially in the medium where the steam isothermal becomes larger.
